26 weeks

28 weeks (ignore the hair, we were at the pool all day that then I went to the gym)

Holy Crap, I will have another kid in three months! I should point out that with Cian I never said this, it was more like, three looooong months to go. I can not believe how fast this pregnancy is going by! (I might feel this way because currently we have done nothing except buy one onsie to get ready for Isla). I am definitely growing more each week so that that means so is Isla.

Isla,

You are moving around all the time now. Sometimes it feels like you are doing back flips in there. Cian is saying hi to you and kissing my belly to give you kisses. Today we played a game where you "kicked" his feet right off my belly. Cian was laughing so hard, I know one day you guys will be able to play games together. (Please try to do it with minimal arguing and maybe no kicking...). We are going to get your room ready in a couple weeks so you have somewhere to sleep when you come home. You are pretty active in the evening, I feel you kicking and flipping around. I can't tell 100 percent if you are breech or not but I am praying you turn your little butt around. Literally. I am praying for you and your health and safety but I want you to know that no matter who you are we will thank God for you and know that you are a blessing. Cian also prays for you when he says his prayers at night. We will see your beautiful little face soon. (But not too soon ok).

Love,
Mommy

Chattanooga Weekend

Saturday, July 23, 2011

My son is officially a jet setter. A couple weeks ago he spent Thursday-Sunday night out of town with my parents in Chattanooga and then he went to Birmingham with Tracy to visit Amanda and Daniel (and Will and Maggie) the following Tuesday. He seemed to do pretty well being away from us but was a bit clingy when he saw us.

Hitting the road

I went to Chattanooga on Sunday to pick him up and to go to a baby shower for my friend Becky. (Ok, don't have photos from that yet because I didn't bring my camera). I found Cian having a great time with Meme and Grumpa. They had taken him to the zoo and to see a movie so I know he was well spoiled that weekend. They also bought him a sprinkler and he and Grumpa had a great time running through it.

Cian would not wear his shoes and wouldn't let Grumpa wear his either. This presented a problem because the grass and dirt were sticking to his wet feet and Cian didn't like his feet dirty so he kept getting in the little pool to clean them off. Sunday night we had dinner at my Aunt's new house and swam in their pool. She is probably lucky that we don't live closer so she can't come outside to find us hanging out by the pool. (Guess what unprepared blogger didn't take photos there either)??

Cian and Grumpa running through the sprinkler. Notice the old man shoes that my dad was wearing. I think he actually got those from my grandfather...

Monday I went funyaking on the Hiwassee river with some friends. A funyak is basically a big one person raft. The water was pretty calm and it was beautiful! I have rafted the Ocoee and the Nantahala but hadn't been on the Hiwassee. Since I happen to have junk in the trunk (er belly) we could't full on raft but floating was relaxing and really fun! I purposely didn't bring my camera so it wouldn't get wet so all you can see is the after photo...

It was so nice to be out on the river. Despite the fact that they dam up the water and let it run every morning it is nice to be in nature and feel so close to the beauty that God created.

Monday night we had to head back to Murfreesboro and reality. I was glad to have Cian back home because the house felt so quiet and empty without him.

It is true that I haven't blogged in a long time and this is why....
I have been consumed with reading the three books in this series. My sister-in-law Tracy told me about them awhile ago and then I heard so many people talk about how good they are so I knew I had to read them. Yep, they were good alright. In fact they were downright addictive. This is the first series since Harry Potter that I had to read at stoplights, under my desk and at any free moments I had in the day. I will not give you a synopsis because you might have the same reaction as I did, "Oh wow, that seems dark." It is worth reading. Collins is poingant and makes you question humanity and your own actions in this post-apocalyptic North America called Panem. She captures the personalities of the characters and shows both the good and bad. Be ready to check out of society for a few days...

Lucky for you I am back in society and have a few overdue blogs for this week.

New Cool Bed

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

The nesting process is starting. We have a little over three months before miss Isla is here so I think it is time to get our house ready. Right? The first step of this was a new bed for Cian. I didn't want him to feel like she was stealing his bed so I wanted to get him a new one a bit before Isla arrives and make a big deal out of how cool it is.

I did research on the internet and we went to look for sheets before we bought the bed. We decided on Star Wars sheets (shocker) and I told Cian we would come back and get them when we went to get his bed. I left work early on Friday to pick him up and go bed shopping. We got the sheets first and Cian was upset because he couldn't wear them. The bed shopping turned out to be much more traumatic than I imagined. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted anywhere...until our last stop! I decided to go there at the last minute and it was 30 minutes before they were closing, oops! Cian climbed the bunk beds everywhere we went and desperately wanted one but I am not ready for him to be that high yet. He also enjoyed trying to jump on all the beds and mattresses we looked at. By the end I think he was starting to realize I didn't want him to jump. We looked in the store and there was a loft bed I loved but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend. I started looking at the twin beds they had and then found one that I liked in a magazine. It just so happened they had it in stock! Well, sold. We bought a bed and they loaded it up in the car.

Steve didn't get to put it up the night we got it but he got it up Saturday before I left for work. While Steve was putting it together Cian wanted to help and went to get his tools so he could help daddy. Once the bed was together Cian was excited about what he called his "new cool bed" and wanted to lay on Captain Rex on his pillowcase. He was also the only one that was supposed to lay on Rex, we had to go pillowless.

He will grow into it...

One happy guy

So far the new bed is going pretty well. He is staying in it as much as he did his toddler bed and only wandering into our bed every few days. I can't believe how fast my little boy is growing up!
